They wiggled deeper under the covers and laughed.

We think we're the shit because we have opposable thumbs and can use speech, but we're really just errand boys/girls for our pet overlords. ^_^ They're just lucky they're so darned cute.

We're especially slaves to cats. They cast some kind of unbreakable spell upon us.

I'm the king of Lazy.
But...
I'm guessing you didn't catch the qualifier. And... I bet you've never owned a Black Lab. Lazy isn't in their vocabulary.

Hahahahaha that was like how my sisters 5 pound chihuahahahhahahahahahahaha was. I never thought that a tiny little dog could take up a whole fucking queen size bed. . .
Luckily my dog refuses to cuddle in bed. She'll hang out for a little while then get over being in a bed and go back to sleeping on the floor in her bed.

I had a black lab as a kid, the only words it knew were "lazy", "treat", "outside", and "bath".

No matter what you do for a cat, it will always try to kill you.

I had indoor cats, kid's in family beds, and didn't accept any of it. I used elbows and knees [gently] and made it clear that I needed my rest. After a time, everyone got it.
You could translate that as "I am the alpha, they are the beta, and that's the way it should be" or you could just say "I needed my rest." Your choice.

Ours pretty much gets his way around the house.
Fortunately he doesn't take up much space :)
